I've finally decided to jump on this capsule wardrobe bandwagon. My closet was stuffed to the brim with clothes that I wasn't wearing. I've purged and purged. I felt like I had all this STUFF waying me down. Too much shopping and too much stuff. I really want to see how creative I can be with my current wardrobe. I gave lots to goodwill, sold some and stored some that I'm not sure about giving up yet. I have a trip to Morocco in April that may require pulling some things from my bins...but we'll see. I'm really excited about the next few months. I've narrowed things down to 37 items that I will wear for the next three months. I'm not including any workout gear or layering tanks or t shirts in my capsule. Depending our Atl weather I may have to throw in a puffer a time or too bc...weather. I hope you'll join me on this capsule journey. I'll post of pics of my outfits to give you an idea of what kind of combinations I can come up with! I've linked to the items in my capsule if you are interested in shopping these pieces. Many of my pieces are old, so I've linked items that are similar.
I live in the Atlanta area so it will be HOT by the end of Spring. We'll still have some unpredictable cold, so I've made sure to have lots of pieces that are easy to layer.
Shop my tanks:
Tees- great for laying. My go to for school pic up etc. Love a great fitting tee shirt! Target has some great T shirts for $5!
Shop my tees-
Shirts- a mix of chambray and flirty florals. I also mixed in a olive green button down that looks great tied with jeans or my black maxi dress.
Dresses- I pick 2 dresses for spring. Nothing too flirty or summery yet. A simple gray midi & a black maxi.
Bottoms- Mostly jeans- white ones, flares, skinnies - a light wash & dark wash and a pair of comfy boyfriends. , a pair of girlfriend khakis that are super versatile too. And I can't forget the jorts, with rips of course.
Layers- I've included a vest, light wash denim jacket, an open weave sweater, longline cardigan, rain jacket, cocoon cardi and an open back light sweater. I may have to use my puffer a time or two. I'm also considering adding my military jacket to the mix- it's lighter than my puffer but warmer than my denim jacket. We'll see what happens with the weather!
Shoes- I realize I may have a taupe/cognac shoe problem! I love neutral shoes- especially with beige/brown tones. Next capsule I may need to branch out a bit!!
Are you going to try out the capsule wardrobe this spring? I'd love to hear about it.
